Retirement Plan Sponsor Services

Because every company is different, and all plans are not created equal, our focus is to understand your objectives and to confirm that you are moving in the right direction. We will guide you through all aspects of your plan design, implementation, and operation of your plan. 

 

DESIGN STAGE

We explore your investment related goals, objectives for the plan, and participant demographics. Once a thorough examination is completed we work with you on identifying the correct plan and plan design. A Request for Proposal (RFP) process is sent out to various Plan Service Providers needed to operate the plan; Investment Platform, Record keeper, and Third Party Administrator (TPA). The submitted results are then analyzed and the top Plan Providers are invited to be interviewed by you. The most effective Plan Providers are graded on; fees, technology, investment options, co-fiduciary support, Plan Sponsor services and Participant services.

The Investment Policy Statement and Guidelines is written to help you create the process used to choose the investment options.

We evaluate and determine the educational needs of your employees and establish appropriate vehicles to reach them, including; seminars, newsletters, and an interactive website.

 

IMPLEMENTATION

Knowing when , who, and how things will be done is important. We build a time line, facilitate the execution of Plan Provider contracts, coordinate the services of each provider, and monitor the results.

Once we verify execution of Plan Documents, subsequently compliance with appropriate disclosures; Employee notifications, plan enrollment materials, prospectii, and Summary Plan Description (SPD) are confirmed.

At this time we begin to conduct the enrollment meetings and provide guidance for your employees. We will help your employees make the right decisions at enrollment and we will be there for them along the way helping them achieve financial independence at retirement.

 

ONGOING OPERATIONAL STAGE

Our experience has provided us the insight to effectively manage your plan and make sure that all of the aspects of your plan fit together.  It is extremely important to understand some important rules, specifically the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). ERISA sets standards of conduct for you, fiduciary rules, while managing your Retirement Plan and its assets. We will be with you every step of the way to guide you through the fiduciary responsibilities and rules you inherit as a result of having a retirement plan. 

The most significant thing a Fiduciary can do is to implement and follow a process that documents the steps and defines the primary reasons a decision is made.

 

We provide an organized approach to managing all aspects of the plan so you know where you are going. We begin by implementing a Retirement Benefit Committee consisting of any named fiduciaries of the plan. The mandate of the committee is to provide the nucleus of implementing a best practices strategy in managing your plan. We can facilitate up to 4 "Formal" Retirement Benefit Committee meetings per year.  

 

You will receive newsletters communicating retirement plan trends and legislative updates. We benchmark the plan to verify fees, services, support, and success measures that are consistent with other similar plans. We also conduct a Due Diligence review, on your behalf, to confirm Plan Providers are still most effective at delivering the required services at a reasonable cost. The same issues are examined as in the RFP done during the design stage.  

We believe it is critical to constantly measure the performance of the plan to verify your desired results.
